Founded as the Vancouver Grizzlies in 1995, the team moved shortly after to Memphis where they have stayed since. Being one of the newest NBA teams on the block, the Grizzlies needed to make a major impact in the NBA to be seen as contenders, which they have done through prolific players including Pau Gasol, Marc Gasol, Zach Randolph and Shareef Abdur-Rahim.
