Premiership Glory

The illustrious premiership history of the Magpies began in 1902 when they secured their first VFL premiership. This victory signaled the start of an era of dominance, marked by subsequent premierships in 1903, 1910, 1917, and 1919. With another five premierships secured in the space of just seven years, the 1920s turned out to be a golden age for the club and cemented Collingwood's status as a football powerhouse.

The Modern Era
With notable premiership victories in 1953, 1958, 1990, and 2010, Collingwood's success continued into the modern era. The 1990 premiership was particularly meaningful since it ended a 32-year premiership drought and set off celebrations that echoed through generations of devoted fans. The collaboration and unwavering spirit of Collingwood helped them secure their 15th championship in 2010, demonstrating the club's unwavering dedication to excellence.

The Fierce Rivalry
The rich history of Collingwood Football Club is not only defined by its triumphs, but also by its intense rivalries. There has been a longstanding rivalry between the club and the Carlton Football Club, known as the "Battle of the Blues." This rivalry, steeped in tradition and history, captivates fans.
Few rivalries though are as captivating and intense as the showdown between the Collingwood and the Essendon football clubs. This clash of titans, often referred to as the "Anzac Day Clash," transcends the boundaries of sport, igniting passions and uniting fans in a fervor of excitement. This tradition began in 1995, and since then, the two clubs have battled it out on April 25th to commemorate and honor the service and sacrifice of Australian and New Zealand military personnel.
